She loves it

I bought this jacket for my girlfriend, and although I agree with Matilda that the magnetic "buttons" may prove problematic in use, my girlfriend loves the jacket and says that the buttons aren't a problem. Hopefully she still feels that way after extended use of the jacket. Barring the possibility of rising irritation level regarding the magnetic buttons, the zip-off hood, hand snow skirts (called "hand-panties" in Matilda's review, a term I like), material, feel, color--all are great features. It looks great on the wearer, and when I put it on just to see how it fit/felt, I was really impressed, even though it's much too small for me to do anything active in it. The "critically placed fleece" mentioned in the product description is pretty cool too--they didn't add any extra material here, only a couple of small sections to match up where your body loses the most heat, thus keeping the bulk and weight of the jacket down while providing the extra insulation that makes this jacket just one step above a shell. Very impressed, overall, and if this jacket came in a men's version, I'd probably buy it for myself.

Not really stoked

I love the fabric; lightweight and supple...and the color--I love the green. I was especially excited that it was recycled. But that's as far as it goes. As soon as I unzipped it out of the bag I knew the magnets were going to be a problem. They snap together w/ super force--what a pain. The hood is lame---zip off which is not indicated in the description and there is no weight to the brim. And the hand-panties are lame too--only one layer of fabric w/ no heat seal. They will pull and run in no time. I'm sending it back.

Pretty Awesome

I ordered this jacket on Tramdock for about $100. I was unsure on size because I’m between M&L. I went large, because I have long arms and long torso. It’s definitely baggy, and a little big. But it's the only jacket I’ve worn that has long enough arms and covers my bum. It’s a fine shell, and it’s zip in compatible with almost anything with a similar zipper. I really like the wrist gaiters because they’ll fit under gloves easily. They haven’t run at all, and I am not careful with clothes. The strong magnets are good and bad. Love the auto-closure. Don’t love how close the media pocket is to the magnets. It crashed my ipod classic, but it’s fine with any mp3 players using flash memory. Super-bright green and easy to spot. Super-comfy fleece on the neck/chin. I absolutely love it in spite of the few design flaws.

Well-Rounded Jacket

I bought this jacket on tramdock a few days ago and it just showed up, so I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. My first impression was 'how in the world is this jacket 20k?' (if you didn't already learn from the Oakley site, the specs here have a typo). The material seems extremely thin, as if just a few romps through the trees might tear it. Also, I got this coat in the green color which turns out to be MUCH brighter in person. It's not necessarily of day-glow status, but the camera does not do it proper justice. One of my other hang-ups is the magnetic closure on the decorative flaps-- or, lack there of; they close with magnets on the bottom two and snaps on the top two, the snaps being particularly frustrating to work, even without gloves. Lastly, this jacket should almost be categorized as a shell, its so badly insulated. Although there is some 'strategically placed' fleece on the back and chest, it's hardly enough to be considered a jacket outside of resorts or spring skiing. The cut is flattering, though rather baggy and I highly recommend ordering down a size.

Nice looking jacket a few drawbacks.

If you wanna look good and can overlook a few minor drawbacks get this jacket! I agree with many of the other comments, yes it’s a shell with a few fleece sections over the chest area and in the elbows….. but those keep it a little warmer and allow for great layering capability. The wrist gators are so-so but who buys a jacket for wrist gaiters alone. I did rip a spot on the arm skiing through some trees, but I was in major trees. The color is BRIGHT green and makes it really easy for your friends to find you on the mtn. The jacket is pretty heavy, not a backcountry jacket to stuff in your pack, but for in bounds skiing it’s great, good for layering, good pit zips that dump heat when you need it, the snaps up top are a little hard to use but look good, the powder skirt actually keeps snow out and integrates with Oakley pants really well. I originally ordered a Med since I don’t like tight jackets but it was huge, returned for a small and it fits great, a little baggy (5’5” 125lbs). For the tramdock price get this jacket!

sickkk jacket!

I bought this jacket for park skiing in Whistler this season and its perfect! Light and just enough warmth for the sunny days without having to take your jacket off and ski in a jersey. Also, its cute without being "ski bunny," baggy enough to be legit and you can layer the sh** out of it in the cold cold weather. Also its a really sick green color, not pastel like in the photos. If youre looking for something fitted and super girly this is not the jacket for you, but otherwise GET IT!
